Who We Are
The Sound of Music
Youth on Stage is a theater company located in Wichita, Kansas, which was created to teach all aspects of theater to young people age 7 through 19. Productions are held three times a year, in the spring, summer and fall. Each musical is directed by a staff of people with extensive theater experience, who are all eager to share their knowledge with youth.
Each child will be given insights, tips and detailed instruction as they go through the audition process, casting, learning parts along with new music and choreography, and in their individual groups. Every child will appear in the final production, and will also join one of five different production teams. Each team will specialize in a different aspect of theater; please see our pages for individual team descriptions. Any young person who is able to return and participate in every team over the course of five different productions is guaranteed to have an excellent working knowledge of how producing a play works! And every youth in every production will also have a great time making friends, learning about theater, preparing an exciting production to be presented for an audience and being a part of a team working toward a common goal.
